About The Event

Are your Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) providing care that Medicare covers in Part B? Does your LCSW billing meet CMS's requirements for these services? While these clinicians bring great value to your community-based patients, Part B billing rules are not what most LCSWs think they are. Most Medicare contractors have LCDs for these services. Would your social worker's documentation meet these requirements?

During this webinar we will review which mental health services are and are not covered under Medicare Part B, as well as who is qualified to perform and bill for these services. We will also discuss documentation "must haves" to bill correctly and how LCDs impact these services. We will review the definition of "psychotherapy notes" and clarify the additional level of protection applied to these particular notes.

At the end of this session participants will:

• Know the difference between covered and non-covered LCSW services

• Understand the general requirements

• Know the documentation requirements

• Understand the definition of a "psychotherapy note"
